Welcome back! We are so excited to begin the 2019-2020 school year! We hope everyone has had a restful, fun and relaxing summer and look forward to welcoming you back for another amazing year of learning. Many thanks to M. McFadyen and Mme Symonds for all of their hard work getting the school ready for September 3rd - the school looks wonderful. We have a new portable, replacement floor decals for our well used movement paths, a new sensory room to support all of our learners and our Kindergarten outdoor learning space is well underway. Thank you to everyone who has helped with these projects, particularly Deanna Sulkeye and Shirley Chalmers, our wonderful BWDSB "BISS" support staff for the floor decals, and parents Kelly Broere and Kendra Knaggs for their planning, design and hard work on the outdoor learning space. Thank you also to the Carpenters Union who are donating a mud kitchen to support this project. It takes a community to raise a child, and we are so very lucky to have the strong, supportive community we have.

We are excited to welcome our biggest Kindergarten cohort yet - almost a third of our school is in Kindergarten now, a testament to the enormous growth we are experiencing. We will certainly miss our students who have gone to Grade 7/8 at KDSS and wish them a wonderful start to the year. Even with the grades relocation, our number of students is up on last year overall. Please remember that all class placements are tentative until October to ensure that we are in compliance with class size regulations. In a community such as Kincardine which is growing so quickly, it can be difficult to estimate our enrolment, but please rest assured that if we do require a reorganization, every step is taken to ensure the process is as smooth as possible.
We are excited to announce a new school website is in development, watch this space! We will shortly be asking for feedback for our school climate survey. This is an important part of our planning as it helps us to know how effectively we are creating a safe, supportive and welcoming environment for our students, families, and the community. We hope you will all complete this to ensure that every voice is heard.

Bonne rentrée à tous!

Mme Stockland, Principal
